Who we are
Mission Lotería is a volunteer-run community organization in San Francisco's Mission District. This page explains what information we collect through this website, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed.
It is written to be read. If anything here is unclear, email admin@mission-loteria.com and ask.
What we collect, and when
We only collect information you type into one of our forms. Browsing the site does not require an account and does not ask you for anything — the one exception, covered in “Cookies and tracking” below, is a background bot check that runs automatically on any page with a form.
- Contact form — your name, email address, subject, and your message. This is emailed to our team; the website itself stores nothing.
- Volunteer sign-up — your first and last name, your email address, and your phone number if you give one. Signing up also adds you to our volunteer email list.
- Vendor application — your business details, along with your contact name, email address, phone number, and any website or social links you share.
- Stay Connected sign-up — your name and email address, plus your birthday (month and day) and your business name if you choose to add them.
Who else handles your information
Running this site means a handful of outside services handle some of your information on our behalf. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job.

How long we keep it, and how to have it removed
We keep volunteer and vendor information indefinitely — and the same is true of contact-form emails, which sit in our team inbox, and Stay Connected sign-ups, which sit in Mailchimp. We are a small organization and we do not delete old records on a schedule.
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every one. To see, correct, or delete anything else we hold about you, email admin@mission-loteria.com and we will take care of it.
Who can see it
Access is limited to the Mission Lotería organizer who administers our Airtable and Mailchimp accounts. No one else on the team sees form submissions.
We do not sell your information, and we do not give it to other organizations. The services listed above handle it on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
We send our emails through Mailchimp. You are added to our list only when you sign up through a form on this site — we do not buy lists or add addresses from anywhere else. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
One thing worth being straightforward about: for a Stay Connected sign-up, the only record that you signed up, and when, is the timestamp Mailchimp stores. We deliberately do not keep a second copy. Volunteer sign-ups also have a record in our volunteer list.
Error reports
When something breaks on the site, we receive an automatic error report through Sentry so we can fix it. These reports are configured to leave personal information out:
- No IP addresses, no cookies, and never your form submission itself.
- Email addresses and phone numbers are stripped out of the error text before the report leaves our server. Occasionally that text quotes part of what was submitted — if one of the other services we use rejects a submission and echoes it back in its response, that response can end up in the error message. We strip emails and phone numbers from it before it leaves our server, though not every field.
- No performance tracking. A report can name the page the error happened on and the page you arrived from, but not a record of everywhere else you went.
A report tells us what broke and where — it is not built to tell us who was using the site.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email admin@mission-loteria.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Changes are posted here rather than emailed, so it is worth checking back if this matters to you.
